Meet Tom & Renee Gossett
Tom Gossett grew up in South Salem, New York. He has always loved the small town atmosphere and chose to stay and create his business here. When Tom started the nursery in 1982, his vision was to continue the tradition of providing a local place where the community meets.
Tom has grown Gossett Brothers Nursery from the quaint garden center established in 1982 to a year-round community gathering place and expanded the nursery’s services to include masonry, landscape design and other convenient contracted services for home owners and businesses throughout upper New York and Connecticut. He is currently working on establishing an on-premises winery to enhance the offerings of Gossett’s Framers Market, which takes place every Saturday from 9 AM to 2 PM at the nursery.
Renee Bayha-Gossett was raised on a cattle farm in Mahopac, NY, and her earliest memories are loving and caring for both large and small animals. After graduating from Lakeland High School, Dr. Bayha-Gossett went on to earn her BS and DVM degrees from Cornell University. Since 1988, she has enjoyed a rewarding career at the Pound Ridge Veterinary Center and was voted one of Westchester County’s Top Vets in 2011 and 2012.
Renee has always been active in the South Salem community and in 2001 began volunteering her veterinary skills to care for the 25 grey and red wolves at the Wolf Conservation Center in South Salem. She is also an active member of the Pound Ridge Community Church, serving on various committees. Renee and a talented black Labrador Retriever named Henry, compete in AKC Hunt Tests and earned the highest title of Master Hunter. In 2015 the pair competed at the Master National in South Carolina.
Tom and Renee live in South Salem with their two children, Billy and Elizabeth. The Gossett family shares their home with two dogs, Henry and Dottie, and a cat named Peter George.
